Innocent children are suffering from violence.

An estimated 120 million girls and 73 million boys have been victims of sexual violence, and almost one billion children are subjected to physical punishment on a regular basis.

Violence against children takes many forms: physical abuse, sexual abuse, neglect and more.

  • 50% of all children experience emotional, physical and/or sexual violence
  • 4 out of 5 children aged 2 to 14 are violently disciplined in their homes
  • 1 in 10 girls under the age of 20 has been subjected to forced sexual acts

The devastating impact of violence.

Violence can affect a child for the rest of their life, with severe consequences for a child’s physical, psychological, and mental health. Without adequate support and care, violence and trauma can have long-term effects on a child’s development and future life.

Every day, in every country, millions of children are victims of violence in their homes, schools, and communities. But often this abuse remains hidden. We need to end the silence. Speak out to end violence against children and sign the petition!
