Tell President Obama: The U.S. Must Ratify the Convention on the Rights of the Child
The Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC), adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 1989, is the most widely supported human rights treaty in history. The CRC outlines the basic rights of every child, such as care, protection, health and to grow in a safe, loving environment. It is a promise by the governments of the world to commit to respect and protect the rights of all children.
Today, the United States is the only holdout nation to not yet have ratified the CRC.
SOS Children’s Villages operates in the spirit of the CRC. We believe that the CRC commits governments to protect the rights of all children to health, happiness, and a loving family environment where they can grow and prosper.
Please join us in urging President Obama to submit the CRC to the United States Senate for its consent to ratify this critical treaty. (Click here to see the petition.)
